Tub and Shower Magic

One of the best cleaning solutions I have ever used. This is amazing for cleaning water spots from glass.

It is official, I am getting Joe’s cold.  I feel like I have been run over by a truck and want nothing more than to crawl back into bed for the rest of the day.  Of course that may also, at least partly, be because I woke up really early this morning and took care of a huge list of things on my to do list.  I think I am going to blame it all on the cold since it is more acceptable to crawl back into bed when you are sick ;-)

Today I have a really quick and easy one for you.  I’ve been holding on to it for a while because there have been so many others but it is definitely time!

We have a huge issue in our house with water staining.  My shower is clear glass and looks so nasty after such a short time.  I used to spend hours trying to get the spots cleared off of the glass.  Then I found this mixture.

Very simple and inexpensive! Equal amounts of Dawn (Absolutely MUST be the blue stuff!) and vinegar with a little bit of laundry soap in to cut the smell of the vinegar.  A note on the laundry soap addition, I read about it somewhere and for the life of me cannot remember where.  I have noticed a difference since I started adding it, the vinegar smell has been cut back some but it does still smell like vinegar.

I add the dish soap and laundry soap first, then warm up the vinegar in the same measuring cup.  The warm vinegar seems to mix better with the soaps and it also gets some of the soap that clings to the cup out.

Yes, I know another Mr. Clean bottle……what can I say, I love the stuff!

Here is what the glass looked like before:

Ummm, eeeeewwwwwww!  I want to state for the record I let it get like this for this example.

I usually spray it down once a week, I get in the shower and spray the glass then rinse it off when I am done.  However, I just let it sit on the window for a few minutes and then rinsed it off for the example.  No need to hide your eyes, there will not be nudity involved.

Big difference!  Not that the pictures are very good.  My bathroom was not designed with picture taking in mind ;-)  I am hoping that you get the point though.   This is now a regular part of my cleaning ritual and I have a few other uses for it that I will get to later in the week.  Oooo, look at me building suspense!

I am off to bed….My sinuses are going to explode and I don’t want them to do it here after I spent so much time cleaning last week.  I will be back Wednesday with something you guys aren’t going to want to miss!

Let me know what you think, I love the comments!
